This week we have Dr. Heather Rhodes on the podcast to discuss all things PCOS and hormones. She dives into how to recognize when there is something going on in your body that isn’t right, and how to start tracking trends around your cycle and your health. Enjoy!

Meet Dr. Heather Rhodes
Dr. Rhodes is passionate about pouring into this tribe as much as possible. She spent over a year denying her PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) status, and TO THIS DAY does not have an “official” diagnosis from a medical professional. It was through continual and persistent research that she started to realize she was having symptoms consistent with PCOS. This was confirmed even more when she started making changes as if she did have PCOS and her symptoms were relieved! Nope, not completely gone, but improved and manageable.
The best part? She was able to learn the ways PCOS can be managed without prescription medications. But wait, she’s a pharmacist. She didn’t want to treat her symptoms with medications. She’s a self-proclaimed anti-drug drug dealer, and as a clinical pharmacist, she works in a family practice office ordering lab work, interpreting symptoms, and meeting with patients one on one. She has seen the medication trap of more medicine to treat the side effects of… medicine. Knowing about the body, how it works, and how chemicals interact and interfere with natural processes opened her eyes to the science behind why treating the body holistically is the most efficient, cost-effective, and curing way to go.
She is a huge advocate of diet and life management strategies as treatment. She has seen patients who have started to regulate blood sugar, lose weight, increase energy, resolve acne, improve relationships, gain fertility, and simply live again.. in freedom… all with small changes. This lit her fire. She knows she had to be a light for anyone looking for more options and simply not knowing where to go or which google article to read. I want to grab hands with each woman feeling lost, stuck, defeated, and hopeless.
