This week’s guest is Brandi’s Alpha Xi Delta sorority sister Shayna Royal. Shayna served as president of the Gamma Delta chapter of Alpha Xi Delta while attending UNO. Brandi & Shayna answer all of your questions surrounding sorority life. Like, how do you get rejected from a sorority? What does a year in a sorority look like? Is greek life as cliché as it looks on tv? It turns out there is much more to sorority life than meets the eye. Enjoy!
Drink of the Week
Shayna peaked at the ripe age of 21 when she served as President of the Gamma Delta chapter of Alpha Xi Delta where she met Brandi and her life changed forever. Greek life and campus involvement was her passion so she packed up her Greek Week t-shirts and went to Bowling Green State University to earn a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel with the goal of working in Fraternity & Sorority Life. That dream quickly faded as she served as Greek Graduate Advisor to 17 men’s fraternities and the House Mom to the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma when she realized it was much more fun to lead a sorority than it was to advise one. Shayna’s career morphed from higher education to be a champion for women in the workplace, leading Talent Acquisition at a fast-growing software company. Shayna lives in Cincinnati with her husband Charlie, two AXiD legacies (aka her twin daughters) Camille and Sophia, and two cats – Buddy and Amigo.
